Aunque "taracea" es absolutamente correcto, te paso esta opción porque tal vez sea más frecuente (incluso en el ámbito de los anticuarios se usa muchas veces el término "marqueterie" directamente en francés)

Marquetería.- Arte de embutir piezas de chapa en tableros macizos y de chapa. La marquetería es un mosaico de maderas de colores, combinadas o no con materiales preciosos (concha, nácar, marfil, cobre, estaño, etc.), según los límites precisados en el diseño.
