It would be foolish to try to convince you that my swimming hole is better than yours.
We'd knock off and head for any one of our favourite swimming holes: Swink's Bottom, Jennings Creek, Buffalo Bend, Goshen Pass.

arroyo, rio, laguna
Explanation:
When I was a kid (many moons ago)I along with all the kids called the creek (arryo) the swimming hole. The creek at the local park was called a swimming hole. The creek behind our property is called the swimming hole by everyone. It´s not called a hole because it´s in shape of a hole. It´s call a hole because it is deep enough to swim in; with no regards to size.

Hope this helps.

poza

Explanation:
Segun el contexto, creo entender que el grupo de amigos nadaba en rios o lagos. Normalmente, la zona profunda y de aguas tranquilas de un rio en la que se puede nadar se le llama "poza".
