Explanation:
Here the "work" of the author can also refer to the effort or input that an author puts into his work. Therefore, cannot "informed by" be paraphrased as "concerned with/involved in". Turning to "visual readings" this is simply the physical reading one does and the skills used by the reader(see refs below).
To translate these terms then:
1. to concern o.s. with - "interesarse, ocuparse de"
2. visual readings - "lecturas visuales"

These definitions are dependent on how one interprets your text and the context. Without this I can only offer my interpretation.
