English term or phrase: I am French. I have lived in America and Scotland
I am trying to explain where I am from and where I have lived.
Caroline Rougee
Spanish translation:Soy francesa. He vivido en América y Escocia.
Explanation:
1) Notice that "francesa" (French) is NOT written with capital F in Spanish.

2) If by "America" you mean "The United States" then you must say: He vivido en los Estados Unidos y Escocia.

Hope this helps!

Soy francés, he vivido en Escocia y en los Estados Unidos

Explanation:
As incredible as it may sound, everybody thinks that America is the United States of America. Themselves name their country as "America". Therefore when you talk about "America", you mean that you lived in the United States of America.

The truth is that America is a continent and not an isolated country.

All the people born in America are americans, from Alaska up to the Patagonia in Argentina and the Antartida.
