la distancia que hay entre (el lugar) donde estás y (el lugar) donde quieres estar
Explanation: Gap can mean several things but in this sentence I can only think of one right word: distance (distancia). I wrote el lugar in brackets for you might want to dispense with them to make the sentence more lively and energetic. However in my opinion I would only eliminate the second "el lugar"...cheers :)
