English term or phrase: cross-selling, up-selling and accessorizing
Merchandising tactics like cross-selling, up-selling and accessorizing are possible and if done properly, may even be more effective than having phone operators do it.

Muchas gracias

Spanish translation:croos-, up-selling & accesorizing
Explanation:
Solo para anadir algo a la conribución anterior - \'accessorizing\' como \'merchandising tactic\' parece ser \'la oferta de acesorios como incentivo para comprar\'.

You could translate it as above or as \'incentivos en forma de acesorios adicionales\' or similar, depending on your product/service.

It would be entirely appropriate to a car sales, computer sales context or any sales where a range of additional accessories are offered.

Up-selling is a technique whereby someone wants to buy a computer and you subtly persuade them to spend that \'little bit extra\' for a \'superior\' model. See ref below, referring to up-selling in a restaurant.

Cross-selling is a similar technique whereby you persuade someone to buy another of your company\'s products, e.g in a bank, you get credit for a house, then you take out a loan for a car, then insurance for both, ad infinitum. See ref below with example.

I have seen references to both in ENGLISH in both French and German sites.
Sadly therefore, these terms appear not to be translated....

venta cruzada, up-selling y venta de accesorios (?)

Explanation:
"Tácticas de comercialización como las de venta cruzada, up-selling y de venta de accesorios (?) son posibles y si se efectúan debidamente pueden ser incluso más efectivas que las ventas a través de operadores teléfonicos"
Notita: up-selling y cross-selling también son términos utilizados en castellano. No pude hallar una versión más española de up-selling. Tampoco de "accessorizing" aunque sí tiene que ver con ventas de accesorios. Puede que halla un término más indicado, a ver que dicen los demás. chao y suerte :)
