English term or phrase: We like bottom-up
The emphasis is rather on investment themes that are in play globally and on stocks that fit the themes and that we like bottom-up

Normalmente he visto bottom-up con el significado de “ascendente”, pero aquí no lo tengo tan claro, lo veo casi como un verbo ¿Qué opinan los nativos al respecto?

Hola Carmen,

aquí "bottom-up" significa enteramente, totalmente...

una ref en E:

Q: If you're feeling a little cautious, why so little cash?
A: I am a bottom's up stock picker, and I'm very management-centric about who can run their companies and win the game. So therefore, I don't want to believe in market timing. And I think that having an extra 10% or 15% cash, for the most part, isn't anywhere near as important in changing the returns on funds as changing the complexion of what you own. So when I say I'm not being as aggressive, I mean that I'm not going to have as much Internet as I had late last year. I'm going to probably have a slightly lower growth rate and price-earnings ratio to my portfolio and look for a little bit higher quality in companies.http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/mar2000/nf00303b...

nos gusta atender las tendencias populares

Explanation:
