Es una orden de compra (PO: purchase order)donde pones la descripción y precio de los ítems, pero no la cantidad, que se va solicitando a medida que se necesitan.
Te doy unos ejemplos de la red:
Para la tarea propia del Departamento de Compras, el sistema administra desde el pedido de cotización a distintos proveedores, la recepción de ofertas y por último la asignación al proveedor elegido, los items que se deseen pedir mediante una Orden de Compra que puede ser Abierta o Cerrada

Orden de Compra General


Explanation:
Blanket Purchase Orders: A Blanket PO is one that is established with a vendor to whom a
department makes numerous payments during the fiscal year for the same goods/services that the
vendor provides. The amount encumbered is the total year’s estimated expense, and is gradually
reduced by the amount of each voucher that is processed against it. One very important item to
note with Blanket POs is that the General Ledger accounts on the voucher Line Items are limited
to the accounts specified on the Blanket PO.
