The context for this paragraph is a set of instructions on how to compute the effective yield of a fund. This is the third and last step.

"...dividing the difference by the value of the account at the beginning of the base period to obtain the base
period return compounding the base period return by adding 1, raising the sum to a power equal to 365
divided by 7, and subtracting 1 from the result."

The problem is that I don't understand a good deal of this mathemathical stuff... Any help would be extremely welcome! Thanks in advance.

… se divide la diferencia por el valor/saldo de la cuenta al principio del período basal para obtener la ganancia/el incremento del período basal, calculando el interés sobre el período basal sumando 1 a esta ganacica/incremento, elevando esta suma a una potencia igual a 365 dividido por 7 y después restando 1 del resultado.
