código de identificación fiscal

Explanation:
Tienes razón. Si se trata de una empresa, se usa CIF. En el caso de un individuo se usa NIF (Número de Identificación Fiscal).
Saludos,
Sarah.

Coste, Seguro y Flete

Explanation:
The only CIF I can think of is the one related to Cost, Insurance & Freight (Coste, Seguro y Flete). See if the text has something to do with foreign trade. If it is related to Codigo de Edentificacion Fiscal, then use VAT which is the equivalent in English speaking countries. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Cost, insurance and freight

Explanation:
CIF puede ser la abreviatura de Cost, insurance and freight y significa el precio que ya incluye coste, seguro y flete.

Just as an addition to my answer above:

Explanation:
Cédula de Identificación Fiscal in the case of Mexico, cedula is used rather than número.
This is not the same as the VAT number.
Best wishes,
Sarah.

Tax ID number

Explanation:
If such is the meaning of this acronym, then this would be the term understood in the US, not VAT because that refers to value added tax (IVA in Spanish - and which does not exist in the US).

I add this only in the case the translation would be targeted to the US.
