English term or phrase: Duda sobre referencia de un adjetivo
Hola,

Tengo una duda acerca de cuál es el sustantivo determinado por el adjetivo "perceived", si "quality" o "credit".

Según uno u otro caso, quedaría como:

calidad del credito percibido (y aquí 'perceived' tendría en sentido de 'obtenido'? )

o

calidad percibida del crédito

Alguien del sector financiero me puede echar una mano?

"XXXXXXX is a mid-market level model that provides an estimate of a bond's market value. XXXX is based on the trading levels of other debt in the selected bond's sector, as defined by issuer type and perceived credit quality."

Es urgente...
Gracias!

Spanish translation:calidad de crédito percibida
Explanation:

“Perceived quality of credit” would be another way of writing this phrase in English. Perceived definitely modifies quality. And the word “perceived” would not have the meaning of “obtaining,” but of “ perceiving ” “feeling” “sensing.”

I hope this helps you.

Muchas gracias a todos! También Cecilia me aclaró lo de que "perceived" no tiene significado de "obtener" en inglés. Me lo suponía, y esperaba que alguien lo confirmara.
Gracias!

Perceived se refiere a quality

Explanation:
Hi,

The quality of the credit is the issue that is being perceived.

Segú el diccionario Oxford perceive puede significar lo siguiente:
1 apprehend, esp. through the sight; observe.
2 (usu. foll. by that, how, etc. + clause) apprehend with the mind; understand.
3 regard mentally in a specified manner (perceives the universe as infinite).

En tu caso se trata de la tercera definición.

Entiendo por que dices que puede significar 'obtener' pero no en el significado normal (es decir físico) sino mental (lo que el Oxford llama 'apprehend).

Yo lo traduciría como:
como se evalúa la calidad del crédito

¡Suerte!

... y por la percepcion (o la evaluacion) de la calidad del credito.

Explanation:
I think this is what the sentence implies:
"... como se define por el tipo de emisor(de los bonos)y por la percepcion de la calidad del credito."
If you want to stay away from the cognate
percibir/percepcion I would suggest
"evaluacion de la calidad del credito" in which case you really translate the true meaning of the sentence. Good luck, Hard Worker.
