English term or phrase: a stream of nitrogen was blown across
To avoid this problem all surfaces immersed in MET-SOW and SOW were washed for ~1 min immediately upon removal under flowing deionised water from a standard laboratory wash bottle, and then a stream of nitrogen was blown across the substrate surface.
