Cuando el resultado de un error "dangle" es un polígono abierto, se habla de "arco corto" (undershoot) o "nodo dangle" (dangling node). Si por el contrario, el arco mal digitalizado sobrepasa la intersección con otro arco, entonces se trata de "arco largo" (overshoot) o "arco dangle" (dangling arc).
