English term or phrase: General engineer's lathe
Hello, I need to have a little plastic replacement part of an appliance built, and I was told that the best lathe for the job would be a general engineer´s lathe. I´d like to know what the translation for that is, in order to find somebody who has such a lathe here in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Thanks in advance :-)

Engineer's lathe - that's it

That is what it is called - I see many URL's for a 'watchmaker's / model Engineer's lathe, but the term is the same.

It seems to be a more mainstream term in the UK than in the US.

Cabe mencionar, dado el contexto de la pregunta, que un 'torno para madera' no conviene para el trabajo en cuestión.
