Explanation:
Continuum carries the idea of going in every direction uniformly, it does not matter in which direction we move we still are going to be in the same place, or an identical one impossible to distinguish from the one we just left. Outside of Physics or Math is dificult to apply in Spanish, besides it hasn´t been approved by RAE. Now, progression gives a sense of change and of going from here to there, which is the case at hand, since the brain changes occur many years before the symtoms become evident and the disease moves in one direction. No elimina otras opciones.

agree  Florencio Alonso: No estoy de acuerdo en que "continuum" incluya la idea de "uniformidad", sino que se trata de que no hay saltos ni es algo que aparezca de la nada. Sin embargo estoy de acuerdo con que "progresión degenerativa" es una mejor opción que las otras propuestas
