English term or phrase: getting the long end of the stick
An accepted claim is one where the California workers’ compensation insurance company agrees your injury or illness is covered by workers’ compensation.

Don’t get too excited quite yet though. Even if your claim is accepted there may be delays or other problems. It is also called an admitted claim.

Not getting the long end of the stick?

Explanation:
¿
El dicho aquí ha dado una tuerca al dicho más común “to get the short end of the stick” – lo que significa “llevar la peor parte” de determinada situación, repartija, etc.

obteniendo un trato justo

Explanation:

Not getting the long end of the stick?".

Saludos!
