Bucephala was a city founded by Alexander the Great and named in honor his horse, Bucephalus. Bucephala lay on the west bank of the Hydaspes river (thought to be modern-day Jhelum in Pakistan).

Del griego \"Boukephalas\" = con cabeza de buey. Nombre del caballo favorito de Alejandro el Grande. Éste notó que el caballo se espantaba con su propia sombra: logró domarlo poniéndole frente al Sol. Bucéfalo fue muerto durante la batalla de \"Hydaspe\" (-326). Alejandro fundó sobre su tumba la ciudad de \"Bucefalia\".
