"Think outside the box" es una expresión relativamente común quiere decir considerar soluciones/enfoques/métodos no convencionales. En otras palabras, ser imaginativo frente a problemas o tareas.

En mi opinión, la inclusión de "legal" aquí hace referencia al ámbito del derecho o de la abogacía como actividad profesional. No veo que se refiera al marco de la legalidad.

Por tanto, hay que tener cuidado que la traducción no sugiera actividades fuera del marco de la legalidad, es decir en la ilegalidad. No serían el tipo de actividades que uno haría públicas a la ligera.
