El contexto es una teoría de derecho contractual y la frase es la siguiente: "Parties trade efficiently when, and only when, the value of the exchanged performance to the buyer exceeds the cost of performance to the seller".

Mi intento: "Las partes comercian eficientemente solo cuando el valor de lo obtenido por el comprador como resultado del intercambio excede el costo de lo realizado por el vendedor".

Sinceramente no me cierra por ningún lado. Me cuesta entender el sentido de la frase original. Hasta "cost" no creo que hay problema, pero luego entro una gran laguna.

Agradecería cualquier tipo de comentarios.
