English term or phrase: Deputy Marriage Registrar Ag
This is a Certified Copy of an Entry of Marriage from Gribaltar.

"Married in the Registrar's Office by Governor's Special Licence before me, Mr Balban, Deputy Marriage Registrar Ag.

[Then further below:]

I, Mrs Reyes, Deputy Marriage Registrar of Gibraltar, do hereby certify that this is a true copy, etc.

Signed: Reyes
Deputy Marriage Registrar"

My question is: could this "Ag" mean "acting in the capacity of"? Since Mr. Balban certifies it but Mrs Reyes signs it.

Thanks for your help.

Yo creo que tienes razón en que podría ser abreviatura de "acting" = en funciones.

También hay varios hits en google de "Registrar (ag)", pero no encontré ninguno donde expliquen a qué se refiere esta abreviatura.
