se me olvidaba: \"assign\" casi siempre quiere decir \"sucesores\", y no hace falta repetirlo en español este caso.

Es costumbre muy del idioma inglés, tan rico en sinónimos (ver Roget\'s Thesaurus), la de repetir sinónimos en la enunciación de cláusulas legales. En español, más dogmático, no se llega a esos extremos.
