English term or phrase: time clock
I am editing a short legal document and the translator used "cronómetro de beneficios" for "time clock". The English sentence reads: The Department is also turning the time clock back to zero of the parent who is exempt on the basis of caring for a disabled child..."
Is that translation OK? The only translation I know of time clock is reloj registrador or marcador de tiempo.
Thanks for any input.

Spanish translation:VER ABAJO....
Explanation:

Thanks a lot for all your input. I wish you could choose more than one person since it is very difficult sometimes to decide between responses. I choose this one because, in the end, the idea was there in the translation of having to start from zero agian so the exempted parent could use more time for caring his disabled child.

Explanation:

Explanation:
I'm basing my interpretation on the following selections, under the "clock" entry, of the Oxford 3-in-1: to turn o put the
clock back volver* atrás; you can’t turn the clock back! no se
puede volver atrás or al pasado; that would be putting the
clock back 50 years eso implicaría un retroceso de 50 años. "Setting the time clock back to zero" is a mixed metaphor: the "zero" in the English text is modified from the expression: "ground zero"]

Explanation:
The clock is not turning back, it's going to be reset in '0' to accomodate a personnel policy, which might be helpful to parents with disabled children

Buena suerte.

turn the clock to zero = start again

Explanation:
I don't know if it makes sense!

Suerte.
