My suggestion as a lawyer is the following... Explanation: "titularidad de derechos de propiedad intelectual", you would state that X es titular de los derechos de propiedad intelectual. Since the sentence says "own", as in propios, it means that X holds title to the rights, meaning that it is the owner of the rights... titular de los derechos de propiedad intelectual... Propiedad Intelectual / Derechos de Autor y Marcas de Fabrica/ Patentes Explanation: It is up to the translator who posess the document to select the proper definition in Spanish. My father, who was an author y composer used to claim his propriety own rights in Buenos Aires, Argentina as an Author and a Composeron his music. I can only imagine it is the same for writers and inventors. |

"Intellectual Property" comprises copyright, trademarks and patents. At least in most of the Latinamerican countries, these rights are governed by distinct laws, that is "Propiedad Intelectual" for copyrights, and "Propiedad Industrial" for trademarks, tradenames, service marks, patents, utility models, and the like.
