English to Spanish translations [PRO] Linguistics / chess book
English term or phrase:dash home
"...after this its task is to dash home to guard from b7-f1 in record speed,..."
Although it's many years (decades...) since I last played chess, I'm pretty sure there are no pieces on the chess-board that can claim b7-f1 as their 'casillero de origen'. All pieces start in rows a, b, g or h.
Consequently, the expression 'dash home' merely means 'beat a hasty retreat to home territory' (well inside the home side of the board), without suggesting that the piece ends up in its 'casillero de origen'.
