Ej: "Have them gather together in a work area and then give them a baggie with eight assorted rocks inside and a 12"X18" construction paper workmat. Have them work as a team to sort the rocks according to characteristics and place the appropriate rocks on the workmat. From the NOTE list, only use characteristics which fit the rocks the students have. Ask teams to work together to place rocks onto their workmat that are shiny. Once they have done that, pick another characteristic and have them follow the same procedure. Make it more complicated by having them place only rocks that have two characteristics, such as shiny and smooth, on their workmat". (http://www.opnated.org/23ex1.htm) Otra posibilidad es que haya un error de tipeo y la palabra sea en realidad "workmate", en cuyo caso la traducción sería juego de niños. :-)) Suerte! |

'teamwork/collaboration within groups' Explanation: This is an adult activity and I would say that the 'workmat' concept is that of 'making groups/teams' . The nursery idea of workmat is for the children to go to 'their area' and 'work/collaborate together' - the focus is off the 'educator' and 'turned in' on a group. It may also be a kind of software/training programm: SEE Activity management skills and techniques Requires from our members: Clear understanding of the exchange process: Learning tool, article #61, page 193 Quality exchange management: Learning Tool, article 60, pages 181 – 191 Activity management techniques: Learning Tool, article #45, A typical Project Cycle, page 133, ****Workmat 03****: project-planning process Examples of activities: Learning Tool: case studies #22 page 267 &****Workmat #1**** is a very valuable resource for a "Big Picture" session (in fact, it is one the best Workmats). Before challenging your members with AIESEC history, be sure however to give some information first, through a Powerpoint presentation for example. FROM http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:www.aiesec.pt/hr/learnr... I checked out the refs above but came up with nothing more. IF it's written in a CAPITAL W then it's probably copyright and shouldn't be translated (but you might have to explain it???). If not, then the idea of 'teamwork/collaboration within groups' is the idea. Just one final point, the company whose page this is, is Portuguese (AISEC) |
