"Administrative records provided to us suggest that, for households in the urban evaluation sample that were registered on the program, the average monthly payment in 2003 was 351 pesos, while the median payment was 265 pesos. There seems to have been some variability in the amounts paid out, explained by the school calendar (no education supplement is paid during the holidays) and possibly by initial administrative difficulties. Indeed, if we compute the average monthly payments in the last two months of 2003, the mean is as high as 445 pesos.
