En este contexto, y tratándose de un motor, podría ser una "spill containment plate" (o algo parecido), pero, en definitiva (puesto que se trataría, en cualquier caso de una protección metálica y más bien hermética, también es un cortafuegos (que tanto aísla de las llamas que se puedan producir como (y de manera más fundamental) evitar no ya que éstas se propaguen, sino que se lleguen a producir (en un motor de avión, el cortafuegos evidentemente retrasa el paso de las llamas, pero también, y con mayor razón, aísla el motor de todo tipo de posibles fugas (de combustible, fluidos hidráulicos, lubricantes, combustible...)
