English to Spanish translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / machinery and components
English term or phrase:chipping and crumbling
The term appears in a text concerning a machine which produces screws by means of rolling them (por laminación) with 2 rollers (rodillos). There are two rollers ar work. one is a rotating one (rotatorio o giratorio) and the other one is a stationary one (peine fijo). The rollers press against each other as the blanks enter the mnachine and, if you want, "engrave" the thread into the screw.
Now, two of the problems which end up affecting the proper functioning of these rollers are:
chipping and crumbling
The thread of the rollers gets "crumble" and "chipped".
does anybody know the preciuse terms for these two problems?
