Once the patient has placed the chestpiece on their chest, flip the switch to “B” (bell) to hear low frequency sounds.
Flip the switch to the “D” (diaphragm) to hear high frequency sounds.
The chestpiece at the Patient Station is a combination of both the bell and diaphragm modes in a one-sided chestpiece.
To hear low frequency sounds, direct the patient to place the chestpiece on their skin and use very light pressure after you have selected “B”.
To hear high frequency sounds, select “D” and ask the patient to press firmly on the chestpiece.
As pressure is applied to the chestpiece, the higher frequency sounds become dominant

Puedes sustituir pieza por dispositivo, suena mejor, pero lo he oído menos.

Gracias, Carlos. Tienes razón al corregir a Maria Luisa. Efectivamente no se refiere a un estetoscopio (stethoscope) pues ya se ha hablado antes del estetoscopio. Un estetoscopio consta, como mínimo de dos partes: los auriculares que el médico usa para escuchar y la pieza (chestpiece) que se coloca en el pecho del paciente. Como acá hablamos de diagnóstico y atención médica a distancia por medio del video, hay que hacer la diferencia entre stethoscope y chestpiece.
