context: "the purified water is passed on for distillation via stainless steel loop."

This process is to make sterilized water for injections and it's done in a stainless steel tank with a loop of stainless steel, still it says "distillation VIA stainless steel loop" and there is where I get lost

Marina, en Google hay cientos de miles de errores ortográficos, gramaticales, anglicismos inapropiados, etc. No obstante es perfectamente posible que sea correcto en algún país y el diccionario de la RAE no lo refleje. En ese caso habría que decir para qué país se considera válido y que los hablantes de ese país se pronuncien.

neutral  Marina Menendez: Me parece que haber dado tu (muy similar) respuesta 27 minutos después de la mía y darme un 'disagree' (siendo que ese es el término de uso en algunos países) no es una actitud loable

  -> Son palabras diferentes. Serpentina, al menos en España y conforme al diccionario de la RAE, *que también refleja acepciones de otros paises*, no tiene ese significado. Para que no pierdas los nervios lo cambio a neutral.
