An AIDS educational pamphlet with a target audience of low-literacy homeless Spanish speakers in Tucson, AZ, U.S.

I translated this as "practique el sexo más seguro", but when I ran this by a native Spanish speaker from Peru he felt this was too literal.

However, I found many examples on Google that used the phrase I came up with.

I am looking for a very simple way to communicate the idea.

"Tener relaciones" sí suena mejor que "praticar", y cuando busqué esta frase en Google, rindió muchos ejemplos.

Por cierto, es interesante que "mantener relaciones sexuales" sea una frase muy común, pero sólo encontré una mención de "mantener relaciones sexuales más seguras". Para mi proyecto, voy a observar esta diferencia de verbos. Por suerte, esto va a ser revisado por un experto que trabaja aquí en Tucson en el sistema de salud pública. Ella tiene mucha experiencia como traductora, y si algo no cabe bien con nuestro "target audience", puede ser cambiado.
