Barrido láser de la superficie rocosa

Explanation:
Though you could use "escaneo" instead of "barrido" and it would be perfectly understood, it is not an accepted spanish word. However in some scientific environments the word "escaneo" would be preferred. It also depends on the country, in most universities of southern South America, "escaneo" would be the chosen word, whereas in Spain they would definitely say "barrido".
