English term or phrase: hair-selective thyroid hormone receptor
...these compounds interact strongly with hair-selective thyroid hormone receptors but interact less strongly with heart-selective hormone receptors.

Patent! I see....They\'ve found the compound that can bind to these hair receptors for thyroid hormones.... interesting. Thanks for responding & for the points. Feliz año nuevo! Elena

The Thyroid Gland
The thyroid gland synthesizes and secretes:
 thyroxine (T4)
 triiodothyronine (T3)
 calcitonin
T4 and T3
T4 and T3 are derivatives of the amino acid tyrosine with three (T3) or four (T4) atoms of iodine. These two hormones have many effects on the body.

Explanation:
That would be my translation but…

Which compounds?

As it is, your sentence doesn't make sense. There's not such a thing as hair-selective or heart-selective thyroid hormones receptors, so they're probably using this terms in a metaphorical sense.

Thyroid hormones do act on hair growth and cardiac function so I think it could be useful if you give us a clue about the compounds.

Saludos,

osierra
