The original text says "there is clearing" without specifying whether it is a partial or complete disappearance. I would tend to think it refers to complete disappearance though. Also, I don't agree with Deborah: the text doesn't say anything about the stage/progression of the clearing. That is something that is simply not stated.
that if the infiltrates had cleared up entirely (disappeared), the text would say so ("the previous noted ... have cleared"). What the text indicates is that the infiltrates are in the process of clearing (without stating that this process is complete).
