ligamento transverso atlanto-axoideo Explanation: Pepa, El nombre "dens ligament" no es tan común como su sinónimo "transverse atlantal ligament" o "transverse ligament of atlas". En español: "ligamento transverso atlanto-axoideo". Forma parte del ligamento cruciforme. La primera vértebra cervical es el atlas. La segunda vértebra cervical es el axis, que tiene una protuberancia en forma de diente llamada "apófisis odontoides". i.e., "odontoid process" o "DENS" -- de ahí el nombre "fancy" del ligamento transverso.
