Períodos de actividad convulsiva aumentada/brotes de actividad convulsiva aumentada. Crisis podría servir también; no así ataques, ya el ataque es propiamente la convulsión, y lo que se está tratando de explicar (me parece) son momentos de aumento en la frecuencia de las crisis convulsivas.
