In the middle section of the reactor is the reducing gas distributor, which consists of a channel with 2 rows of 72 nozzles each, placed around the perimeter. The nozzles direct the gas towards the centre of the furnace at an angle of 45° downwards, with enough speed to allow it to penetrate the mineral bed as homogenously as possible.
This section of the furnace is known as the bustle. Above this point in the furnace the section is known as the Reduction Zone and its effective height is 7.92 m.

Si esa es la pregunta, entonces esta zona se denomina etalaje

3.5.2 Reducción
La reducción se produce en forma continua en el Horno Reductor (Figura 3). El óxido de
hierro es alimentado al tope del horno y baja por gravedad, descargándose en el fondo en la
forma de hierro reducido (DRI). El gas reductor entra al horno por su parte media
denominada bustle y fluye hacia arriba, en contracorriente con el óxido.
El proceso de reducción es llevado a cabo por debajo de la temperatura de fusión del mineral
de hierro. El hidrógeno y el monóxido de carbono, producidos en el Reformador, son
introducidos al horno en composición y temperatura controladas
