Military / Defense / 19th Century War Dispatches
English term or phrase: Coarze

"Suchet has demanded of the Merchants here, a Declaration upon Oath, without assigning any reason for so doing, of what quantity of Colonial produce may be here, and has in conzequence [sic.] annexed the following duties on them.
Every quintal of Cocoa. 4000 Rials vellon
d[itt]o Refined Sugar 2000
d[itt]o ***Coarze***
di[tt]o per pound Cinnamon
Obliging the Merchants to pay this Contribution which must cause the ruin of many families.
I have the honor to be &ce[ter]a
(signed)"
