English term or phrase:its favourable split to the underflow
7.2.3 Volumetric Analysis
The 350 mm diameter cyclone is selected in terms of ***its favourable split to the underflow*** (49.2%).
It is assumed that the coarse cyclone underflow material will deposit at an in-situ dry density of 1.6 t/m3, due to its favourable permeability and good drainage characteristics.
Conversely, the wet, fine cyclone overflow tailing will be deposited at high rates of rise, and will be undrained. An estimated in-situ dry density of 1.1 t/m3 will apply, based on experience at other facilities.
