English term or phrase: funny fitters' hats

Apparently in the business there is a common name for a welder's cap:

"Welder’s caps, commonly called *** funny fitters’ hats ***, are a popular and necessary piece of personal protective equipment."

Is there anything similar used in industry in Spanish speaking countries? (I don't suppose they would be "gorras divertidas...")

Explanation:
All I could find on espanol.yahoo.com were references to *máscaras de soldar*, with occasional variations such as *para casco" and *con visor alzable/levantable*. This does not mean that there is no slang term, but it's unlikely that it would be a direct translation from English.
