English term or phrase: signifigant other
I live with my signifigant other.
julie
Spanish translation:pareja
Explanation:
Hola Julie!
Hace poquito debatimos largo y tendido (valga la coincidencia!) sobre este tema. Ojalá que lo hayan incluido en el glosario.
Yo voté y voto por "pareja" porque es amplísimo, pero te digo que la discusión fue muy interesante.

Saludos,

Julie:
Though somewhat more colloquial Spanish (either means \"other half\"), they are both have exactly the same meaning as \"pareja\" or \"compañero/a...which mean----partner/companion/lover...etc.

pareja

Explanation:
Hola Julie,
Pues esta respuesta es un poquito impersonal, "Vivo con mi pareja" pero si le quisieras poner humor o poesía al asunto, puedes escoger de entre una escala de 0 a 10:

1. -"mi peor es nada"
2.-"la luz de mi vida"

siendo 0 la opción # 1 y
10 la opción # 2..................... ¶:^D!!!

Buena suerte y saludos del Oso ¶:^)

Compañero-a

Explanation:
Esta sería una de las traducciones, si existen varios slangs (modismos), lógico por las diferentes culturas, mi novia, mi novio, se supone si la persona significa mucho, debe tde tener elgrado de novio o novia, también se puede usar, dependiendo de con quién se habla, mi costilla(came from Adam and Eve, since he lost his rib, to be given to her), mi media naranja (my other half), mi amante (my lover), también podríamos usar mi concubina no?

Saludos y Suerte.
