English to Spanish translations [PRO]
English term or phrase: Outfitter
The term refers to a person that is involved in hunting and serves as a guide and helps hunters.
Gabriela Guajardo
Spanish translation:guía
Explanation:
an outfitter does NOT carry things, anymore than anyone else in the hunting expedition. An outfitter guides the hunters, helps them find the right equipment, and takes care of the details like permits and such. A friend of mine is an outfitter in the Amazon-basin jungle, and is referred to in Spanish as a "guía", NEVER a portador.

guía portador

Explanation:
Haven't found "outfitter" so Serena's answer may be right. However, if the job is about guiding then I would suggest simply: "guía". If the guy is also a porter then: "guía portador". cheers ;)

batidor

Explanation:
It's more than a guide; it's the person who circumvents, usually with the help of dogs, beats the vegetation etc, to flush out the game.

The word is used as in 'batido', so I suggest that the person is 'batidor'

"guía y proveedor de pertrechos"

Explanation:
outfitter:"a dealer in equipment and supplies (as for camping trips)". No usaría "batidor" en un castellano rioplatense, al menos, ya que tiene una connotación muy negativa, la de "delator".
Hope this helps.
