Yo entiendo que se refiere a que su sede (o algunas de sus sedes) se encuentran en el continente.

Te propongo la traducción "establecidos en el continente."

No hay la menor duda, el otro seria "teams whose activites are based in/on the continent" o "teams with a continental focus" o cualquier cosa asi.
