Monitoring absorbing rates is one of the duties of the regional manager of a property management company. I think it refers to a statistical relationship between the number of new units being constructed and the number of new jobs which a community needs to generate in order to fill them. However, I sure would appreciate any clarification, as well as a translation--just of the term "absorbing rates", not everything I wrote!
