Explanation:
En el sistema británico se distingue entre "tonne" (tonelada métrica, o sea, 1000 kg.) y "ton" (907,1847 kg.) Esto se debe a que la "ton" se define como 2000 libras.
En traducción, usa "tonelada", sin más, para traducir "tonne", ya que en todos los paises métricos se presupone que las toneladas son métricas. Pero ojo cuando traduzcas "ton", que yo llamaría "tonelada de sistema británico (o imperial)" y daría la explicación correspondiente.
