alfombras modelo realce y de Explanation: (aprovechamiento de) espacio interior. Realce seems to be the term for "accent",-several hits-. Area may be refering to interior area, that occurs a few times too, and it's a phrase widely used in the house fittings field. Cheers and luck again :) Reference: http://www.conbienes.com/supertienda/Menú-AlfovencaAlfombras... Reference: http://www.ypasa.com.mx/otrasalfmodul.htm |

alfombrilla Explanation: Forgot to say that rug is actually alfombrilla, which is a smaller alfombra. When something is called alfombra o alfombrilla, that varies a lot. The alfombra has got to be quite small to be called alfombrilla. Alfombrilla could also be mistaken for "mouse pads". I'd go for "alfombras (y alfombrillas)" just in case, alfombrillas optional. salud :) |

See below Explanation: You got the right meaning, but the problem is that there is no specific words for these kinds of rugs in Spanish. Area rugs are rugs to cover wide areas - for example, before a sofa or in a bedroom. I would translate it simply as "alfombras", though possibly you already use this word in other contexts and the text may end up being too repetitive. As for the accent rugs, I think the best would be to give an explanation, such as "Alfombras pequeñas para realzar puntos específicos" or "Alfombras pequeñas para decorar un rincón" - it depends on context. Well, if you are translating a book about home decoration, you may use these kind of explanations, since they are not technical books, and the people that will read it will get the meaning. If it is a book for decorators, ..., then maybe you should look for more specific, technical words used in these fields, which I do not know. Sorry for such long explanations!! Pere |

alfombras de enfoque y de zona Explanation: Accent rugs: this would mean rugs to 'accentuate' a piece of furniture for example. Synonyms: draw attention to , emphasise, highlight, underscore One possibility could be to use 'destacar' alfombras que hacen destacar algo, que llaman la atención a algo, Highlight is a good one but turns out awkward in Spanish; Synonyms: focal point, focus Hence my best choice above. Area rugs would be indicated for specific but important parts of a room Alfombras de area/de zona |
