BA Bachelor of X, as an under-graduate degree, is theoretically equivalent to the Licenciado en X; but Spanish authorities are reluctant to admit this, claiming it to be only 3 years compared to their 4/5 years (the EU, however, considers the Bachelors Degree and the Licenciado as equivalent)
Different countries have different systems of education, and the fact is the GB system is highly specialised at A levels (3 subjects) compared to COU in Spain. What Spanish people study is their first 1/2 years at university if often covered by A levels in GB.
As for the translation of 'Arts', Philosophy is an option, not an integral part of all BAs. Collins, however translates it as LICENCIADO EN FILOSOFÍA Y LETRAS.

Explanation:
Los títulos universitarios NO se traducen, ni del español al inglés, ni del inglés al español, por no ser equivalentes. Una licenciatura española, mexicana, argentina, etc., no es un "bachelors degree" inglés ni estadounidense, porque los requisitos son distintos. Para obtener un bachelors degree, se cursan cuatro años de estudios, y, a veces, se presentan exámenes al final. Pero no hay tesis como requisito. Y el nivel de estudios alcanzado no es lo igual.
Entonces, ¿cómo solucionar el problema? Pués, se deja el título en inglés, con explicación parentética breve en español: bachelor of arts (título británico al completar cuatro años de estudios universitarios).
Nótese: Nosotros, los traductores, no tenemos la autoridad necesaria para evaluar un título universitario, pero sí, hay gente calificada en eso. En EE.UU. se llaman "registrars" y normalmente son profesores universitarios experimentados con, además, una formación específica en la evaluación de credenciales. En otros países, serán administradores universitaros también, pero no sabría cómo se titulan.

Explanation:
It was a difficult answer because of the equivalence with names of degrees in different countries. I don´t think that "Art" has to do with art at all because I´ve seen it with Engineering. I didn´t choose "Licenciado" because that degree requests a thesis here in Argentina, at least. Thanks again for all your contributions !!

No sé cómo se organizan las universidades allá en Argentina, pero quería asegurarme de que no hubiera malentendido acerca de las funciones de un "registrar".
El/la registrar es un oficial universitario cuyo papel es asegurar que se archiven correctamente las credenciales de los alumnos de la universidad, así como la difusión de estas credenciales. Gran parte de su responsabilidad es evaluar esas credenciales para que se archiven según ciertos criterios pre-establecidos por los oficiales de la universidad. ¿En Argentina, tienen estas responsabilidades los Jefes de Departamentos de Alumnos? [Por haber participado en varios comités del profesorado encargados con el establecimiento de criterios, le puedo asegurar que no es trabajo sencillo ni fácil, el papel de registrar]
Mi Diccionario Larousse ES<>IN propone "secretario general (de la universidad" como traducción de "registrar".
