It is used when a salesperson asks a customer if they need some help.

Explanation:
That is my favorite phrase. The first thing all beginning Spanish students want to know. By the way, you can't say, "ayudarlo" because helping you is indirect and "lo" indicates direct recipeient of the action. You are going to help them "in something" making them the "indirect, or le" not "lo"
