A mí me parece que, si se escribe sólo "ahora" o "en este momento", si la situación ha cambiado para cuando el lector lee el artículo, el lector se queda con la impresión de que el periódico no está al día. Sin embargo, si se pone esta expresión (aparte de ser una expresión normal), el lector se hace cargo de que pueden pasar cosas entre el momento de impresión y el momento de lectura.
