I'm staying with your answer since that is really the characteristic that more closely defines a convenience store. Also, I don't believe in using local terms such as "bodega" or others that may either have a different connotation in some countries or be totally meaningless to some folks.

Todo depende en donde lo utilices, mirando el Oxford, dice que en Perú le llaman chino (familiar). En Argentina me acuerdo que le decían Maxiquioskos, pero quizás sean términos muy regionales.

Tienda: establecimiento comercial donde se venden articulos, generalmente al por menor. (My explanation: en algunos paises, una tienda es un comercio que vende ropa y a veces muebles y articulos para el hogar, pero no comestibles.)

Almacen: (Amer. Merid.) tienda de comestibles.

Boliche: (Argent. Par. y Urug.) establecimiento comercial modesto, especialmente el de bebidas y comestibles.

Bodega: (Cuba) pequenio comercio, tienda de ultramarinos.

I think that "tienda de conveniencia" doesn't mean anything to a Spanish speaker.
